SnagitPro runs on a combination of reader support and affiliate links. This page sets out exactly how that works, in plain terms, so there is nothing to read between the lines.
What an affiliate link is
Some pages on this site link to software, courses, or tools through an affiliate program. If you click one of those links and buy something, I may receive a commission. The price you pay is the same as if you had gone to the site directly — the commission comes out of the seller's side, not yours, and there is no markup or surcharge to you.
What it does not change
- Recommendations are made first, links added after. A tool's place in a comparison or roundup is decided on how it performed in testing. The affiliate link, if one exists, is attached afterward — it does not earn a tool a better position.
- No pay-for-placement. No developer or vendor pays to appear here, to rank higher, or to be reviewed favorably. No one sees a draft before it publishes.
- Honest verdicts include "do not buy this." If a free tool beats a paid one for your use case, the guide says so, affiliate link or not.
Where these links appear
Affiliate links may appear on pages covering Snagit itself and on pages covering alternatives and companion tools — for example links to a vendor's store. Not every link on the site is an affiliate link; many are plain references to official documentation, forum threads, or sources, and those earn nothing.
If this changes
If the site takes on a sponsorship, a different commercial arrangement, or any other paid relationship, it will be disclosed here before it appears anywhere else on the site. The independence standard behind all of this is in the editorial policy.
