Privacy Policy

Privacy information for SnagitPro readers.

Effective date: August 4, 2026. This policy explains what information is processed when you visit SnagitPro.com or contact the publication. SnagitPro is an independent, one-person editorial site hosted on Ghost(Pro). Questions or privacy requests can be sent to editor@snagitpro.com.

Information processed when you visit

Ghost(Pro), its content-delivery network and security providers process ordinary request data needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, request time, requested URL, referrer, browser or device type, operating system and diagnostic or security events. SnagitPro does not receive a named visitor profile from those delivery logs.

Ghost's first-party native analytics is enabled. It records page views and aggregate traffic information such as the page visited, referral source, browser, device type and approximate geography so the publication can understand which guides are useful and diagnose unusual traffic. According to Ghost's native analytics documentation, its web analytics are cookie-free and do not use cookies or other persistent browser storage to identify visitors across sessions, browsers, or devices. SnagitPro does not run third-party advertising pixels or cross-site behavioral advertising.

Information you choose to send

If you email the publication, the message may include your email address, name, the page you are writing about, product version, operating system, screenshots and any other information you choose to provide. That information is used to reply, investigate a correction, evaluate a tutorial request and maintain an editorial record. Do not send software keys, activation codes, passwords, private captures or regulated personal data.

Cookies, local storage and embedded services

The public site does not currently offer member accounts or paid subscriptions. Ghost may use essential browser storage for site operation, search, security and first-party analytics. Following an external link sends you to a separate service with its own privacy policy. Embedded or linked services are not allowed to use their data to change SnagitPro's editorial conclusions.

Why the data is used

  • to deliver the site, prevent abuse and maintain security;
  • to measure aggregate readership and improve navigation and content;
  • to answer messages and verify correction reports;
  • to comply with legal obligations and defend legitimate rights.

These uses rely on the legitimate interests of operating a secure editorial publication and responding to requested contact, except where local law requires consent.

Processors, transfers and disclosure

Ghost Foundation Ltd provides managed hosting, storage, analytics and site infrastructure. Ghost and its infrastructure providers may process data in the Netherlands and other countries where their approved providers operate. Their handling is governed by their own contractual and legal safeguards. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect the site from abuse, or to investigate a security incident. SnagitPro does not sell or rent personal information.

Retention

Messages are kept only as long as they are useful for the conversation, a correction record, security, or a legal obligation, then deleted or anonymized. Hosting, security and backup records follow Ghost's and its infrastructure providers' operational retention schedules. Aggregate analytics may be retained to compare readership over time.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to processing. Email editor@snagitpro.com with the subject “Privacy request” and enough detail to locate the relevant message or record. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed. You can also clear site data in your browser and use privacy or tracking-protection controls.

Children

SnagitPro is written for software users and professional documentation workflows and is not directed to children under 13. The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be published on this page with a new effective date. For information about how factual corrections are handled, see the Corrections Policy.
